Virtual classrooms create a safe place for students to learn, grow, and excel. Jefferson Virtual High School capitalizes on the creativity, differentiation, and collaboration provided by a virtual platform. The faculty and staff encourage students to discover and apply new learning in a technology immersive environment because we understand that technology is the universal
language of the world.

As principal of Jefferson Virtual High School, I strive to provide support to teachers and maintain open communication with all stakeholders for the purpose of student growth. With over 17 years of experience as a teacher and educational leader in Jefferson Parish, I value the impacts of strategic planning, consistent communication and collaboration on the overall growth of a child. We nurture our students’ curiosity and provide opportunities to turn their ideas into possibilities so that Jefferson Virtual High School students can achieve what was once thought to be
impossible.

George Cuoros said, “Technology is not just a tool. It can give learners a voice that they may not have had before.” Observing our students using their voices to participate in breakout room sessions, lead Socratic seminars, and present in science fairs through the use of technology is
something special to see. We look forward to collaborating with community partners in an effort to make hearing those excited voices remain a reality.
